Love this! Looks so good. Have the same bed and have been wanting to do the same for years. This might give me the nudge I needed. Glad to see 3m was enough too. Thanks Alex
Absolutely love it. We did ours for the first time two years ago and I'm so pleased I gave it a go. Although with no experience in upholstery I decided I wanted a wavy headboard and footboard. With no instructions I still don't know how we managed it. I can still see a few mistakes but sometimes you have to give it go.
I can so relate to this post. I, too, tend to find my own way with projects. While it sometimes takes me the long way (or winding way) to get there, I always get there. The bed looks fabulous!
It looks great! Hope your back has recovered, too.
I’ve wanted to try this for so long but am worried as our headboard is currently a buttoned/tufted(?) finish, not flat. Wondering if I can put layer of wadding under to hide the indentations…🤔
We recently ungraded our mattress & it’s almost certainly the best investment I’ve ever made but hoping I can DIY something with the (perfectly fine otherwise) frame.
I fully agree some stripes / pared back covers / pillows will be 👌🏻👌🏻
Regarding your sofa, I recently asked you for a recommendation (or not) of an upholsterer and their details as I know you had it done in N London. Would you be able to help?
Oh sorry they weren’t N London based! In my sofa blogpost (linked in the article) I have linked to the guy in Lewes/Sussex. We organised collection through him last time but it isn’t always possible. For restoring we’re hoping to drop it to him and make a day of it x
look of the bed after decorating the bedroom so I found an off cut of material- blue/white check and just wrapped the headboard and pinned it using nappy pins which meant it could be removed easily for washing and I could alternate with another fabric.

There were a lot tears lol

I was always the one on floral arrangement classes just doing my own thing! It's a good way to be, I think!
Beautiful! Really nice job. I'm really impressed with your corners!
Thank you! I was impressed too - but sure it wasn't a traditional edge!
Thank you so much 🥰
Wow, you are my hero. You set your mind to something, and get it done. Love it!
I have the privelege of turning it into work, I suppose! I must admit having a newsletter and a deadline always motivates me a bit more!
It looks great! Hope your back has recovered, too.

I think you could! Maybe a foam covering? I would never attempt a tufted look - or piping!
Looks good. Amazing what you can do when you set your mind to it
Thank you Tracey! x

Thanks so much you star! ⭐

The base of bed wasn’t visible.
So clever! I remember a friend's mum made her some pale pink linen slip covers for her headboard for the same bed - looked gorgeous!
