Hi, I’m Alex!

I have worked in the Fashion and Lifestyle publishing industry for over two decades. The first 10 years on glossy magazines and then more recently sharing my finds on social media. The Really Useful Edit is where I curate all my finds in one place. I like to think of my content as thoughtful and useful, I reeeaaallly care about my recommendations and it matters to me that we don’t mindlessly consume too much ‘stuff’. I have always prided myself on finding the best, unexpected things in-store and online, whether that’s the best value stylish cutlery, the comfiest High Street jeans or my greatly anticipated Xmas gift guides (even I wait for my own!).

I ran an award-winning blog ‘The Frugality’ for 12 years with many loyal subscribers (thank you!) and now want to focus on having more confidence to post as myself. Expect my carefully considered style edits, city guides (where possible with two young kids!), achievable DIYs and more, my brain is always bursting with ideas/thoughts/finds and not enough space to share it all, until now!
