Love seeing the updates. The yellow downstairs loo looks so cute. The colour works so well in a small space. I love it at night the most. Would you ever think about painting the toilet seat in the kids bathroom. Maybe a pale blue in the same hue as the toilet. Like Kakelugn by Farrow and Ball. I think because the floor tiles are a warm yellow orange and the sink is cool another colour could help with balance. So cute though. The sink is very sweet. x
It all looks great. I particularly like the Murano ceiling light, beautiful. The kids bathroom is eclectic and cool. I think if you changed it to a different basin it would lose something and you’d possibly regret it. Embrace the friction!
I love it too- I am at the same stage as you with my own renovation, craving colour on my walls - (paintings are in the attic! )I am inspired to get them downstairs !!
Also getting ready to buy some lampshades.. like the look and shapes of yours.
There comes a point after the exhausting months of building work when you are not ‘firing on all cylinders’. I am finding renewed energy here and really helpful buying suggestions - thanks
As a an exhausted , financially drained fellow renovation person. My best investment recently was an impulse, all inclusive, flight and holiday - week in Lanzarote! We have all come back revitalised .🙂
I have found it so supportive snd useful to be alongside your substack posts and photos during my own
I love it! Wallpapering always takes _years_ but it looks so great afterwards. Re the yellow sink...I'm not sure whether you were already planning to, but I think if you painted the walls in a colour (pale blue? Or a matching yellow?) it would tie it in nicely
This was my original plan, the door is a pale blue and I had started the skirting….but I worry it might look a bit ‘themed’. I’ve never liked a room I’ve painted a colour - but it keeps crossing my mind and it definitely depends on the blue!

I actually love the naked pine skirting boards between the India Yellow and lovely terracotta tiles 🥰
I love your photo of Mt Fuji. Everything is coming together so nicely. The wallpaper in your daughter’s room is adorable!
May I ask who you used to get your sofa reupholstered. I have a couple of Bauhaus era chairs that I inherited that badly need doing up. Thanks.
P.S. Love the reno updates.
Sure! All the details are on here (this is an old blgopost so the formatting is a bit off) https://alexandrastedman.substack.com/p/all-the-striped-sofa-details?r=8spxp&utm_campaign=post&utm_medium=web
It all looks lovely, the wallpaper idea for the downstairs cloakroom is great!

It's all coming together! You have worked so hard. The yellow bathroom will all work out - trust your vision!
Thank you! When I see the kids in there I love it and that’s probably what matters x

I also have a small child obsessed with Bunny vs Monkey 🥰
