Hello! It’s half term and I’m away with my daughter and friends - it feels like a guilty secret when I don’t announce exactly where I am at all times on social media but there’s something empowering about separating my two worlds and not letting the two necessarily co-exist together all of the time. But of course I will do a packing/wearing post once I’m back (including my actual packing lists which I swear by).
Three things…
1. FLAMING LIPS
I’m going deeper into my red lipstick reviews over on my website, I tried 7 orangey-red shades to find my perfect, friendliest lip shade - across lots of different pricepoints. I wore each of them over a week to see how they held up over the day. My top 2 (No 7’s ‘Gay Geranium’ and Violette FR’s ‘Guimauve’) are both cruelty-free and not too pricey, naturally.

2. M&S SANDALS
They’re just nailing it right now, one of my go-tos for accessories (and swimwear) at the moment - let’s face it, they had me at ‘footbed’.
3. LONDON HAPPENINGS
London in the summer is just the best, isn’t it?! These are on my list:
Bert Hardy: Photojournalism in War and Peace at The Photographer’s Gallery - I visited this gallery a few months ago for the Daido Moriyama exhibition and have thought about it a lot, the Bert Hardy (also self taught) is set to be just as fascinating. It’s also reasonably priced (£6.50 in advance and free after 5pm on a Friday).
Enzo Mari at Design Museum - I know very little about Enzo Mari other than the iconic apple and pear imagery, which is exactly why I should see this exhibition on one of Italy’s greatest designers of the 20th century.
Moonwalkers at Lightroom - this is by no means a cheap day out but my daughter is studying space at school and it’s something I would greatly appreciate too (I loved the Hockney exhibition, which is coming back, btw!).

Also on my cinema list is ‘La Chimera’ (based on Clara’s substack essay alone), Chris and I have been trying to make day plans (whilst kids are at school/pre-school) and I love the serenity of a quiet cinema on a weekday - Picturehouse Central (with the comfy sofas) offer half price tickets on Mondays and Curzon Cinema’s yearly membership makes a great gift.
Oh and I went with the Ikea £15 ‘Gladom’ side table in the end - I think it looks good here!
Until next time, where I will fill you in on my travel wardrobe and itinerary (if it turns out to be good)!
My new favourite newsletter to read! Thanks Alex 😊
