Before I get into this, I wanted to say ‘hi’! This is the first proper newsletter I’ve sent from my new home, it’s hopefully a bit more conversational and I will take requests! There’ll be a mix of style chats and great edits of the High Street and beyond, at least once a month but I’m still getting to grips with these new layouts. And for paying subscribers, a styling chat will be winging its way over and a long-form essay on why I said goodbye to my alter ego and my original blogging identity: The Frugality (you can upgrade at the bottom of this email if you’d like to receive those).
‘3 Things…’ will be a regular segment of amazing High Street finds, 3 ways to wear or whichever way I can spin it! I’d like to have a bit more fun and flexibility with sharing things but also want to make it less overwhelming, so here are my ‘Top 3’ items right now:
1.
Maxi skirt: £39.50, Marks & Spencer. I’ve been looking at maxi skirts a lot lately, if you get it right I really think they can be as easy as your favourite comfy trousers. This version has pockets, an elasticated waist and an excellent pricepoint. I have only just finished my hunt for the perfect maxi and sided with the Cos skort (sadly sold out in most sizes and unfortunately much more expensive) but would’ve ordered this, if I had seen it first!

2.
Stripe cushion covers: £9.99, H&M Home (can you believe in the few hours it took me to compile this newsletter, the frill ones have already sold out?! You can be notified here). Seersucker cushion: £9.99, H&M Home. Never underestimate the power of a cushion to transform a space (that is, if you don’t already own 527 like myself). In my defence, my H&M cushions are among my favourites at home - just don’t forget these come unstuffed, so there’s a hidden cost!

3.
I have not bought any flat shoes this season, mainly because I have my white Mango ones from around 7 years ago which are so comfy and still look great.
These are the same ones (or as close to it, it has been a while), they come in black and burgundy and will be so useful this spring:
Black flats: £49.99, Mango. Burgundy flats: £49.99, Mango.
If you’re looking for something lighter, then these silver leather M&S ones are winners for £35 and I still love the John Lewis ‘Harietta’ flats 2 years on (and for once they have sizes in stock!).
Been following you for a while - Just subscribed! Looking forward to this new format and wishing you much success!
Good luck Alexandra. Looking forward to all the posts
